Dr. Christine Horner MD FACS
Board Certified in general and plastic surgery
Christine Horner, MD FACS received her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati. She completed a general surgery residency at Good Samaritan hospital in Cincinnati and a plastic surgery residency at IndianaUniversity. Dr. Horner is a board certified in both general and plastic surgery.
Dr. Horner is a nationally recognized surgeon, author, expert in natural health, and a relentless champion for women's health. In the late 90’s Dr. Horner spearheaded a national campaign to pass laws requiring insurance companies to pay for breast reconstruction following mastectomy. Her five-year effort led to laws in thirty-five states and a federal law passed by Congress on October 21, 1998.
She has been featured in hundreds of national magazines, newspapers, and television news programs including interviews by Dr. Oz and Dr. Mercola. Dr. Horner has also received numerous awards including Glamour magazine’s "WOW Woman of the Month" in February 1999. In 2000, Oprah recognized her as a part of her "Angel Network" on her television program. She has also received the YWCA Career Women of Achievement award in 1997 and in 2001, she was voted by her peers as one of Cincinnati’s “Top Doctors.”
Dr. Raghavan Murugan, MD, MS, FRCP, FCCP
Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine and Clinical and Translational Science Core Faculty, Center for Critical Care Nephrology, CRISMA Center, Department of Critical Care Medicine
Dr. Raghavan Murugan is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Critical Care Medicine and the Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is currently an Attending Intensivist at the Abdominal Organ Transplant Intensive Care Unit at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is American Board certified in Internal Medicine and the subspecialty of Critical Care Medicine, and is an elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London, UK.
Dr. Murugan is a core faculty member of the newly formed Center for Critical Care Nephrology, CRISMA Center, and has authored more than 55 peer reviewed publications. He conducts translational research to understand mechanisms of inflammation-induced organ dysfunction after critical illness with a particular focus on acute kidney injury. His other research interests include studying the effects of resuscitation and inflammation on organ function in brain dead donors and renal transplant recipients.
Dr. Murugan is a recipient of the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) career development award. Dr. Murugan employs a highly innovative and paradigm shifting approaches from systems biology, biostatistics, bioengineering, epidemiology, biostatistics, and translational methods to understand complex dynamics of critical illness, develop hypotheses, and examine new therapies in critical illness.
Dr. Lanie Francis, MD
Hematologist and medical oncologist at Hillman Cancer Center
Dr. Francis is a hematologist and medical oncologist at Hillman Cancer Center. As an advocate for healthy living, Dr. Francis practices wellness in her daily life. Dr. Francis is board-certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. She is a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and Society of Integrative Oncology.
Lisa Grazan, JD
Lisa Grazan is a practicing attorney with a passion for integrative medicine. She sees a need for people to become more educated about the safety and efficacy of natural approaches to healthcare and an even greater need for them to be able to freely pursue those natural means of treating disease and/or maintaining their health. Lisa is committed to working to secure that these forms of healthcare be recognized and take their rightful, legal place as viable, effective options.
Lisa has also applied her analytical skills to the study of Naturopathy through Trinity School of Natural Health. Throughout her studies Lisa was drawn to Ayurveda’s philosophy of proper diet and sound digestion being the foundation of a vibrantly healthy and balanced body, mind and spirit.
Lisa has studied Ayurveda extensively. She has written articles about her personal experiences with Ayurveda which have been published in the Ayurveda Journal of Health, an international, peer-reviewed publication.
